Victoria was born and raised in Maine and from a very young age was singing in her school and church children’s choir. At the age of ten she started her study of piano, followed shortly by her pursuit of broadway performances in her school. The beginning of high school saw her music skills take off; she became the school’s pianist – accompanying for the several choirs and talent shows, Graduation and Commencements and joining the Jazz Band; she took on leads in year after year of broadway musicals; she was accepted into multiple select choirs (including soprano soloist in the 2000 and 2001 Maine All-State Choruses) and at the age of 16 was hired by a local church to be their featured soloist and Soprano section leader for the Adult Choir.
After high school, Victoria decided to pursue a double degree in Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Vermont. However, after one semester it was obvious that music was too large a part of her life to deny, and she changed her Computer Science degree to Vocal Performance. Throughout her four years at UVM she studied with David Neiweem, Timothy Morningstat and Karen Sutherlan. Shortly after, Victoria was hired by The First Congregational Church of Burlington, Vermont to direct the children’s Choragic Choir and lead the Adult Choir as their soprano Section Leader and choir soloist. It was here that she started her own private voice and piano studio with a few students from the Choragic Choir. Her private studio quickly grew as she took on students from the University of Vermont and throughout the Burlington, Vermont community, teaching students of all ages, ranges and abilities. It was also at this church where she met the love her life and fellow classical singer, Neil Wacek.
As college came to a close, her interest in singing only growing, she quickly moved onto a Masters of Music degree from a small, specialized conservatory in Cambridge, Massachusetts; the Longy School of Music. A two year, full time study in Opera Performance and private voice lessons and coaching with Donna Roll and Thomas Enman, gave her the specialized education necessary to solidify her pursuit of music in Vermont, and after graduate school, she moved back to Burlington, Vermont. She accepted a position with Hickok & Boardman, Inc. as a personal insurance agent, and married her husband, Neil Wacek, all the while continuing her music studies with Beth Thompson at Middlebury College, and Naomi Flanders in Montpelier, Vermont.
